Hello Lady Eagles! This is Tracie from My Life. On behalf of the entire Man-Up/My Life board, we hope you are having a safe and educational year! We are so excited to tell you that we will be having My Life early this school year. Mark your calendars for October 29th to join us at NEO College for a day of thought-provoking topics, valuable resources, fun, food, and goodies.
This year, we are having three break-out sessions. Each one will have a speaker but one will have jumping roping! Learning the Ropes will join us for some fun and entertaining roping! Mrs. Shouse will provide you with more details about the event as the date draws near. For those of you who are doing concurrent enrollment at NEO, just notify your professor as the time draws nearer that you will be attending the event. For those of you that attend Career-tech, Mrs. Robin will send a list of those attending so you can be excused.

Mrs. Straub's junior classes finished reading the play, which took almost a month to read! Each student had a character to play and they all did amazing! They begged to read every day!


The Afton FCCLA Chapter is selling T-shirts and hoodies, if anyone is interested in ordering the order form is below. All shirt orders are due no later than Tuesday, October 22nd.


Several Afton kids have their pumpkins entered in the Otttawa County 4H fall contest.

Mrs. Straub's Senior English class engaged in group activities this morning to improve life skills and help students prepare for life after graduation.


Tuesday evening our FFA members went to The Regional Greenhand/ Opening Ceremony Contest at Grove. We had a fantastic evening with members competing in Jr Opening Ceremonies, Team Creed, and Greenhand Quiz!!
- Jr Opening Ceremony Team placed 1st & are advancing to State
- Greenhand Quiz - Brianna Ashworth placed 9th
- Team Creed placing 4th and 3rd





FCCLA Officers attended the 2024 LEAD Conference at Glenpool on September 17th. Chapter officers from NE District 2 gathered to network and attend workshops to prepare them with leadership skills for the year ahead.

Monday, October 7th JUNIORS will take the ASVAB in the high school gym @ 8:30. Please make sure you bring your computer fully charged to school. If you go to tech in the am, you will be excused for the test. Also, any senior interested in retaking the ASVAB, is welcome to do so.

Tomorrow 10/3/24 @ 5:00pm, there will be a PARENT meeting in the High School Gym for any 7th - 12th grade GIRL planning on playing basketball.

Please help us support the Junior Class on Friday October the 4th! They will be having a Hamburger ($8) and Hot Dog ($5) feed before the football game from 5-7 pm in the HS eating area. They will also be hosting a dance in the cafeteria after the game for 7th-12th grade students admission is $3 and the dance will end at 11 pm.


We will have NO Elementary or Junior High Tutoring on Tuesday October 1st.

Tuesday October 1st we will be having drug testing for students in 7th-12th grade participating in ANY EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (Sports, Band, Vo-Tech, or any student organization). The cost will be $10, students please turn your money into the office.

Pre-K through 4th grade will be visiting Anabbelle's Fun Farm on Thursday, October 3rd.
Admission for Afton Elementary students will be $5.
Money is due on Wednesday, October 2nd.
The cafeteria will send a sack lunch for each student.
